FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Fitzhugh Baptist Church VBS 2005 A Ramblin' Success!
AUSTIN, TX: JULY 28, 2005 Fitzhugh Baptist Church held their annual summer time Vacation Bible School from July 18th through the 22nd. This years VBS was held from 6:30pm till 9:00pm in contrast to previous years daytime activities. There were 126 students enrolled including more than 80 children, 20 youth and 20 adults who participated! - along with nearly 50 people that volunteered their time and resources to make Vacation Bible School a success this year with the increased attendance and participation. The theme of this year’s Ramblin’ Road Trip Vacation Bible School by Lifeway Christian Stores, was full of fun and adventure. The students followed a scrappy bunch of teenagers as they recounted their tales of traveling from Destination Worship in Washington, D.C. to Destination Thankfulness, Chicago, IL, then on to Destination Salvation, Lebanon, KS, Destination Belief, Yellowstone National Park and finally to Destination Obedience at Knottsberry Farm, CA. These five fun filled destinations with the road trip theme made a fun and enjoyable time for everyone. The children and youth were instructed and provided in the Bible, Crafts, Recreation along with Movies and Snacks for a full evening of learning and entertainment. Most importantly the Gospel of Jesus Christ was presented clearly and concisely as spear headed in the Music and presentation of the A.B.C.’s of Christianity. A. Admit that you are a sinner, turn and repent from your sins Rom 3:23, B. Believe on Jesus Christ as God’s Son John 3:16 C. Confess Jesus Christ as Savior and Your Lord of your life Rom 10:8-10. Through the week 10 children decided to follow Jesus as their Savior. This year closed with a Parent and Family Night where the highlights of the week were presented on the overhead in a picture show presentation. All those who wished to receive a DVD or CD of the show could sign up and receive a copy to take home as their own. A suggested donation of $1 was appreciated but not necessary for the CD and DVD. If you would like to receive a DVD, please email glenn.scott@fitzhughbaptist.org with your name address and telephone.
