For Sunday school and Children's church we have
chosen a program from Lifeway called Worship Kidstyle. Worship
KidStyle is a great program that helps teach kids all about God and what
it means to worship Him in a way that is fun for kids. Children
will learn what it means to worship through song, daily Bible reading,
arts and crafts, dramatic play, games and exploration and discovery.
We start the program during Sunday school where
the kids will hear the days Bible story. We will discuss the Life
Application and learn the Key Memory Verse. We also play a related
game and then watch a short movie that helps reinforce the lesson for
the day. During Children's church we use one of the following
areas to help expand the days lesson: arts and crafts, dramatic play,
games and exploration and discovery.
Sunday School starts at 9:45 am and Children's
church starts at about 11:15am. We hope to see you soon. |

We are excited to announce that we have recently
started Bible Drill on Sunday nights at 6:00. Preschoolers up
through 5th graders will find this an exciting and educational time as
they learn more about not only what's in their Bibles but how to use
their Bibles. We recommend that each child have a complete Bible
to use during Bible drill. For some tips on how to select a Bible
that's right for your child check this out:
Selecting a Bible for Children. If you would like to know more
about why we develop Bible skills check this link out:
Why Develop Bible Skills?. If you have any questions about
Bible Drill please contact Bo Henry. |

This summer we decided to take three different VBS
programs, combine and condense them and what we are left with is Bible
Boredom Busters. We've taken the stories, life applications, key
verses and games from each program and condensed it all into 1 hour of
boredom busting fun. Here's a look at our first 5 weeks:
7/29
- God Spares the Israelites at Passover
8/05 - Our Father in Heaven:
Jesus Teaches About Prayer
8/12 - Our Daily Bread: Jesus
Feeds 5,000 People
8/19 - Forgive Us Our Debts:
Jesus Tells About an Unforgiving Servant
8/26 - Lead Us Not into
Temptation: Jesus is Tempted
9/02 - The Kingdom, the Power,
and the Glory: Jesus Overcomes Death |

AWANA is an international, Bible centered
discipleship program designed to reach kids in preschool on up to high
school. Our goal is to reach boys and girls, and their families,
with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. The acronym
AWANA comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen
Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15).
Our AWANA club meets Wednesday evenings during the
school year from 6:30 - 8:00 pm and we offer the following programs:
Cubbies for preschoolers
Sparks for Kinder - 2nd graders
TnT (Truth and Training) for 3rd - 6th graders
We will be starting back up September 9, 2009.
If you have any questions or would like to pre-register your child
please contact the church and leave a message for our AWANA commander,

The Fitzhugh Youth are off to a wonderful start this year. God has
answered our prayer of growth by tripling the number of kids that attend
on Wednesday and Sunday nights. If anyone has not taken the time
to get to know these kids I encourage you to do so. They are
incredible people and I am blessed to work with them. We meet
every Sunday morning at 9:45 and Wednesday and Sunday evenings at 6:30.
We hope to see you soon. |
