FBC Mission Statement
Through God’s Word, the mission of Fitzhugh Baptist Church is to bring all people to Jesus, develop them to a Christlike maturity, empower them for their ministry in the Church and life mission in the world in order to magnify God’s name.
Our annual Mother’s Day Tea has been set for Saturday, May 9, at 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm in the Family Life Center.
We hope to duplicate the “High Tea” offered by those who live "across the Pond."
Food of a lighter fare will be provided, a short devotional will be offered, with fun and games for those attending.
We will have a drawing with prizes for the winners.
All ladies attending are encouraged to bring a tea cup for the cup exchange.
These will be placed on a table and all will choose an item to take home with them.

continuing the exciting fun started back at the beginning of the
year! Fourteen kids are having a blast.
Kids who can’t read are asked Bible Story Questions! You would be surprised at what children know about Bible stories!!
The leaders of this class are Bo Henry, John Howard, and Jennifer Longenecker. Be sure to encourage your child to participate!
We are truly blessed with our AWANA program at Fitzhugh Baptist Church! We have an energetic group of kids eagerly
learning God’s word. We have been blessed with an awesome group of leaders guiding the children through their learning paths.
Our Cubbies (age 3-PreK) are so engaged in their class that they are reluctant to go home at the end of club night.
Our Sparks K – 2nd grade) start with game time and are energized when working through their handbooks. Our T&T club
(3rd – 5th grade) work so diligently on memorizing their verses that they would prefer not to stop and go to game time.
Our special nights include shopping at our AWANA store using the AWANA bucks that clubbers have earned, hearing a message
from our pastor, popcorn and movies and creating special crafts to take home.
We meet on Wednesday nights at the FBC Family Life Center from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. You are always welcome to join us!

O heavenly father, make me a better parent. Teach me to understand
my children, to listen patiently to what they have to say, and answer all of their
questions kindly. Keep me from interrupting them or contradicting them. Make me
as courteous to them as I would have them be to me. Forbid that I should ever laugh
at their mistakes, or resort to shame or ridicule when they displease me. May I
never punish them for my own selfish satisfaction or to show my power. Let me not
tempt my child to lie or steal. And guide me hour by hour that I may demonstrate
by all I say and do that honesty produces happiness. Reduce; I pray the meanness
in me. And when I am out of sorts, help me, O Lord, to hold my tongue. May I ever
be mindful that my children are children and I should not expect of them the
judgment of adults. Let me not rob them of the opportunity to wait on themselves
and to make decisions. Bless me with the bigness to grant them all of their
reasonable requests and the courage to deny them privileges I know will do them
harm. Make me fair and just and kind. And fit me Lord to be loved and respected
and imitated by my children
